Women's Resource Centre

The Women’s Resource Centre aims to redress the lack of women's services and empower women through information, support and education.

Women's Resource Centre is funded by NSW Department of Comunity Services under the Community Services Grants Program. The centre assists women of all ages and diverse backgrounds includes ATSI, CALD, disabilities, young women, gay/lebian/transexual; women affected by domestic violence or other violence assault issues; women who are socio economically disadvantaged and/or geographically isolated.

Women's Resource Centre objectives are to support children, young people, individuals and families so that they can enhance their independence, safety, self-esteem and/or quality of life within the community and to build strong comunities and social capital, undertaking community development so that communities are well informed, resourced, connected aned equity and diversity embraced.

OPEN HOURS Wednesday to Friday from 10 am to 4 pm.

INFORMATION & REFERRAL is available in legal, housing, domestic violence, drug & alcohol, court assistance and various other issues.

LIBRARY of fiction and non-fiction books for adults and children, videos, DVD player, tapes and extensive resource library.

WORKSHOPS are run on various subjects including self defense, confidence and assertiveness, family law and other legal issues, stress management and health.

COMPUTERS, INTERNET & EMAIL ACCESS Three IBM computers which women can use with broadband access. One to one tuition and internet training available for beginners.

KITCHEN, TEA & COFFEE Women are welcome to come and have a cup of tea or coffee and utilize the kitchen facilities.

CHILDREN
are always welcome with toys, television and video and shaded outside play space to relax in.

DROP IN
Thursdays 1-3pm—Music, singing, percussion, art & craft activities, sticky bun, chatting and more!!!

SCREECH NEWSLETTER
is produced free quarterly. If you are a woman operated or owned enterprise advertise by contacting WRC. A small fee applies to help offset newsletter costs.

SCREECH SUBSCRIBE Have the newsletter posted to your door 4 times a year—$6.00 to cover printing & postage
