Sydney U3A has over 5,000 members pursuing an interest in lifelong learning. We offer over 300 courses to members who pay a membership fee of $45 in their first year and $35 in subsequent years. The Little Red Writing Workshop with Mark TredinnickWriting is talk tidied by art and set down on paper. Come and hear tips for tidying your talk into fresh and original prose or poetry ─ into a vernacular music that sounds like no one else but you. In this workshop, based on his writing guide The Little Red Writing Book, award-winning poet and essayist Mark Tredinnick walks through some fresh ideas and powerful techniques that will help you lift your writing game. The workshop will include discussion, writing exercises, feedback and a guided reading of a sample or two of great writing. Mark Tredinnick, who lives in the Southern Highlands, is the author of six books, including The Blue Plateau (2009), The Little Green Grammar Book, The Land’s Wild Music and a collection of poems on CD, The Road South. He is at work on a volume of poems, a novel and Reading Slowly at the End of Time, a prose work about the consolations of reading in a frantic age. His prizes include the Blake Poetry Prize, the Newcastle Poetry Prize and the Calibre Essay Prize. The workshop is for creative writers in all genres.
