The Common Myna is invading the Bega Valley - Stop this introduced pest now! These birds are around and some have been trapped and eliminated humanely from the population in Bega. There are more! Keep watch and notify Jim on 6495 0165 or Barbara 6495 7390 with the location if you see any. http://thebegavalley.org.au/birdwatchers.html
The Common Myna Task Force is operating across the Bega Valley Shire, with the usual supporters contributing and some new players. Thanks to John Jessop for the removal of 90 birds from Coolagolite that would no doubt have increased and invaded to the south. More birds have been removed from Bemboka Village, South Wolumla, McLeod Hill, Brogo Hall and Yurammie, and traps are still set at serveral other locations.
Field Outings - usually held within the Bega Valley Shire, are held on the SECOND SATURDAY and FOURTH SUNDAY of each month and occasional weekdays
Evening Functions - Featuring guest speakers, slides, sightings and discussions, are held in the Uniting Church, Cnr. Lakeview Ave and Henwood St, Merimbula at 7:30 pm on the SECOND THURSDAY of February, April, June, August, October and December
