Mr Tim will be running a workshop for children at 10:30am at the Little Top (Youth Tent). Those children who participate will be part of the Mr Tim Show, which opens the festival at midday in the Big Top!
In the Kids Activity Area, a range of musical and craft workshops will be on offer to children at the Candelo Village Festival, with all materials provided.
There will be workshops available for children to make lanterns, ribbon sticks and musical instruments such as rain sticks and drums. Children will also be invited to learn how to play samba rhythms on percussion instruments in a vibrant performance led by local musicians.
The parade will culminate in a celebration of Earth Hour at dusk, which everyone will be invited to join in with their lantern or musical instrument.
The Festival will celebrate Earth Hour with a dusk lantern parade. The parade will commence from four corners of the village, converging at the Big Top.
The sound systems will be turned off and the festival venues will host acoustic performers.
In the weeks leading up to the festival a group of young people from Candelo are painting a mural on the eastern pylon of the Candelo Bridge. There will be an opening celebration at 3:30pm. Come and check out their work!
On the western side of the bridge, The Crossing Gallery will be displaying 91 artworks painted by Candelo School students. Impressions of Candelo will be opening at 2pm on Saturday 21st March.
